However, there is a downside: even though we are lucky to live in this era where we can make it as independent musicians, that comes with a number of overwhelming tasks. I know this very well! I am a musician too!
Luckily, I not only love writing and playing music, I also love planning and organizing, so I created OAK TREE MUSIC to do the heavy lifting for you!. Let’s work together!
TAILORED MUSIC
If you need custom made music for your project don’t hesitate to reach out! Even though I was trained as a classical musician, I have experience in other genres like pop, world music, jazz… For me, music is all about the story. What are you trying to say? What’s the message? I will use any musical element needed to serve your story and make sure the audience gets inspired by it.
You have written a song but need some instrumental arrangements? I can write a piano and/or cello accompaniment or some vocal harmonies. Enhance your song with music tailored to the meaning of your lyrics. That way, your story will be more meaningful!

Sometimes, you need music sheet of your music for registration purposes, or because you need to send some lead sheets to your musicians. Writing those can be time consuming and excruciating if you are not familiar with any of the music notation software out there. Good news! I have been using those programs for 30 years, so I can write those music sheet for you!
SHOW PLANNER
Do you need a venue for your next show? Looking for one can be exhausting! My database of venues in Vancouver, BC, includes community centres, theatres and others. From a small capacity venue of 40 people to venues that hold over 1000 people. Get in touch and we will find together the venue that fits your needs and budget!
Being on top of all the details of the show can be very overwhelming. Luckily, I love planning and organizing! I can deal with the booking and communications with the venue; create your posters; help you with the social media promotion; send newsletters to your subscribers; deal with the tickets; take care of any decorations, raffles, surprises or any other details for the show, etc. and you will only have to worry about practising!
Once more, it is tiring enough to get the instruments ready, load, unload, set up… I can be your stage manager for the day, so you don’t have to worry about any other logistics.
MARKETING AND PROMOTION
You wrote the music, practised it, recorded it and now the world needs to know about it! However, there are a thousand things to take care of when you release music, and we only have 24hrs a day… I hear you! And I can help you!
I have been releasing music for the last 4 years, and I have developed a proven system. I can upload your music to your digital distributor; set up a pre-save campaign; create banners for your socials; register your music with SOCAN, Mediabase, SoundExchange, Re:Sound…; write a press release; set up a Musosoup campaign; get your EPK and website ready for the release; do some playlisting; send it to radio stations; help you with the social media content; send newsletters to your subscribers… I can do it all or just part of it, but you will feel relieved for sure!
We like to think numbers are not important but let’s face it… They ARE! Venues, producers, managers, grants… They don’t care about you until you have good numbers. I can help you get those Spotify numbers up! It is all about playlisting and finding the right playlists that would feature your songs over and over. I do this through Submithub and together we can find an option that matches your budget.
One of the things you hear as an artist over and over is: “You need to have a website!” And I agree! Your website is your business card. It is your home, where you have everything. From your website, you can direct people to your Spotify, your socials, your store, your shows…
I understand if you don’t have one, though, it is also overwhelming on top of everything else but, guess what?… I have been creating websites for myself and my bands for the last 20 years, and now I can create one for you!
Oh! The dreaded social media content… Doesn’t make you feel like you are constantly behind? Creating content is not that hard actually. It starts with the habit of recording everything you do. You have a practice session? Record it! Studio session? Record it! A show? Record it!
If you send me all those videos, I can easily create a few reels and post them for you! And ta-dah! your socials won’t be collecting digital dust anymore!
Don’t we all dream about hearing our song on the radio? I have been volunteering as a radio producer and co-host for the radio show Unsigned BC. If you’re from BC, you can have a radio play at our show for free!
Apart from that, I can also help you send your music to the music libraries of other radio stations and, if you’re Canadian, to Earshot Distro, where they put you in touch with hundreds of community radio stations across the country.
