ORCHID ORCHESTRA
Orchid Orchestra is a Vancouver-based indie pop band blending lush choral harmonies, shimmering synths, and cinematic electronic textures into a bold, emotionally resonant sound. Fronted by therapist and songwriter Rupert Hudson, their music explores vulnerability, self-acceptance, and connection—often leaving audiences both dancing and deeply moved.
Following their second EP Be Lucky, Orchid Orchestra is now recording its debut full-length album, supported by a a number of grants from CreativeBC, SOCAN, and FACTOR. Their live shows combine heartfelt songwriting with immersive, high-energy arrangements that bridge organic and electronic worlds.
TIMOTHY O
Born in Vancouver and now based in Victoria, Timothy O draws from a lifetime of musical influence — rock from his brothers, pop and disco from his sisters, country from his parents, and countless hours self-teaching himself song structure as a teen by listening to various pop/country songs. After releasing his first songs in the early ’90s, including one that received local radio play, Timothy stepped back from music for many years.
Re-emerging with renewed purpose, he has released multiple singles since 2021, with 2025 becoming a breakout year. His song “Memories of Summer” became his most-streamed track, helping fuel a worldwide surge in listeners across streaming platforms. Known for his strong ear, emotive vocals, and melody-driven writing, Timothy creates genre-bending pop songs shaped by real life experiences and genuine connection.
RANDOM OLD LADY
Barb Shaw has been a songwriter, choir director, accompanist, (guitar, harmonica, kazoo, spoons, percussion, *djembe) and performer since long before most of you were born. With super improv and people skills, she can work a crowd of any kind. Currently she’s added some stand up to her act – You never know what’s coming next with ROL!!
Barb can alchemize the essence and emotion of a situation into a deeply crafted song. Or throw together silly and ridiculous lyrics that will make you laugh in spite of yourself and want to sing along.
